Health Organization Management Ranks 41st in the Nation

James Hoffman, Director of the Health Organization Management program, believes that this ranking will bring in more students and publicity of the program. “Our ranking is a real testament to the professors who teach in the program, and the students who are in it,” Hoffman said. “It is due to the efforts and hard work of all the faculty and staff.”

The ever increasing demand for individuals with sophisticated management and leadership skills in the health care industry requires professionals whose education is strongly based in business principles. With accreditation by AACSB (International Association for Management Education) and CAHME (Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education), the Health Organization Management (HOM) program at Texas Tech is currently one of only 13 MBA-based programs in the nation focused on preparing professionals to meet this need. The HOM program combines the expertise of faculty members in business, medicine, public administration, and economics to prepare the leaders of both today’s and tomorrow’s healthcare system.

Superior academic training and challenging real world experience have made the Texas Tech University's HOM Program among the nation's premier health care administration programs. The HOM program is also accredited by AUPHA (Association of University Programs in Health Administration), which is comprised of the 160 best programs in healthcare management. As one of the few MBA programs aligned with a school of medicine, the HOM Program draws upon the resources and expertise of both the Rawls College of Business Administration and the Texas Tech University School of Medicine. The MBA (HOM) course of study prepares students for managerial positions in the health care industry, with special emphasis on medical groups and ambulatory care.
