The Saint Louis University (SLU) MHA Program began its health management educational competencies project in 1999. They rendered these competencies in hope of improving the professional development of their faculty, staff, and students. The competency sets are organized into six domains [leadership, critical thinking, scientific/analytic, management, political and community development, and communication] that identify the knowledge, skills and abilities that are essential for entry into a career in management of policy and lay the foundation for professional development.
