Dr. Eric Ford and Dr. Barbara Cherry received a two-year contract with Texas DADS to study long term care facilities and adoption of electronic health records.
Texas Dads: General information
The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) was established in September 2004 as a result of House Bill 2292 (78th Texas Legislature). DADS strives to provide a comprehensive array of aging and disability services, supports and opportunities that are easily accessed in local communities.
Vision:
Older Texans and persons with disabilities will be supported by a comprehensive
and cost-effective service delivery system that promotes and enhances individual
well-being, dignity and choice.
Mission:
The DADS mission is to provide a comprehensive array of aging and disability
services, supports and opportunities that are easily accessed in local
communities
Our key responsibilities to the citizens of Texas include:
- Working in partnership with consumers, caregivers, service providers and other stakeholders.
- Developing and improving service option that are responsive to individual needs and preferences.
- Ensuring and protecting self-determination, consumer rights and safety.
